A hurricane is a slow moving, ferocious storm wreaking havoc and causing wide-spread catastrophic damage. On September 13th Hurricane Florence began to affect Newport, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. Those of us unable or unwilling to evacuate settled in for a long and stressful night.
The images in this portfolio seek to show the impact a storm like this can have on a coastal community. These images are a jarring juxtaposition of Mother Nature’s fury and our own fragility. A simple reminder that our world is not static, it is ever changing regardless of the structures we create.
